If the entire global internet suddenly collapsed and stayed down... I think the US and most modern countrys would be totaly messed up and would have major social / political problems to say the least... It would probably put the world and the US into a situation worse then the old great depression fast. Laws would no longer be applyed to the Govs they would probably have total control over everything at that point because so much of a riot would happen in the following days. And im not a pestimistic person.

A lot of people would be quite unhappy and stressed out.
Many people will be a little troubled.
And some people won't care a bit.
And if you mean, what would happen if internet never returned: we would have to go back to phone, letters, fax, television and radio again to get our information.Things would go slower, the whol world would slow down a bit. Actualy a rather nice thought, isn't it?

Nothing would happen except youngsters would go out and play for a change instead of vegging in front of the PC and
the family would have more quality time to spend together!

Not a lot.

Some businesses would lose a few quid, some would lose a lot, many folks would lose their jobs....

Many people would lose savings.....

The world would carry on as before.........

remember the internet has only become big in the last few years, although their is a lot of money stored in online accounts, that money would still exist on computer systems but it would be inaccessible to me and you.

Then Royal Mail could put prices up and keep all their staff happy and no-one would have a leg to stand on.
I would be pretty bored, but it wasn't so long ago we had fulfilling lives without internet. I am sure we could think of something....
