That really pisses me off. My family members all jump to vote for Obama cause he's black or if you are democrat, you automatically get the vote, regardless your political platform. We got to do better.

All black people do not do this but ALOT do.

They do it because they're misguided in the belief that it's white against black, US against THEM mentality. Owing to America's history, it is not surprising that there are some blacks who feel they should continue to think in this venue. Not to say some whites don't think this way, as well. I believe this kind of thinking is ingrained in some, and cannot be unlearned, but in some cases can. I don't know your family personally, so cannot judge if they are agreeable to new ideas, or are completely close-minded.
It appears to me though, that seeing your family act in such a manner as they are, they must be the close-minded type, which has caused you to think in another direction, than what they appear to have been trying to teach you throughout your life.
I respect that. You have learned to think for yourself, instead of following the status quo.
You cannot change them, only yourself, but from what you are saying, I don't see anything in you that needs changing.
For peace of mind however, you may want to stop talking politics with your family. LOL!

Good Luck, and God Bless America!

Well Obama is finally a qualified black man

Al sharpton ran too, but didn't get much support cause he is a fool.

I think most people vote for the candidate, not the race.

Good for you, My good friend!! You should be sure to tell EVERYONE, why you vote for you you choose. And give them something to consider. You decide what you you feel is imortant. Let others see that they should do the same!! Good Queston!!
