If you want to be sure to see your children and maintain a relationship with them, then you really have to go through the courts. Especially if she's planning on moving and possibly moving out of state. The courts can order that the children not be moved more than a specific distance away from you if you request it. Get a good lawyer, and try not to be combative with your ex. Let her know how much you care about those kids, and that you're willing to pay as much as you can afford for child support. Try to work out a plan together, and you can have it made official in court.

I agree...get to a lawyer soon! Even if you don't have much or no money at all, there are places that will help you for little or nothing. Don't wait. From experience, having it on paper is better and then no one can "change there mind" about anything. And I don't know about any other state, but in Ohio you cannot take the children out of state unless there is written consent from the other and/or the court system. In writing is better. Good Luck!

You need the court thing so both of your rights are protected.

Go see an attorney, lickety split.
