There's a nice map there on the 1st page.
Just follow the links. [Second Wiki site is a bit better,
but I liked the map on the first one.]

Virgina was a plantation colony. Tobacco was the major cash crop. Jobs as an overseer, builder, tobacco purchaser, shipper, etc. would be work options. It was a religious colony, so preachers were needed. School teachers.
Obviously there was drinking, so tavern work could be had. Probably not many manufacturing jobs early on since most hardware / metal goods were imported from Britain.
Shipbuilding along the Chesapeake. Maritime jobs. Fishing.
If you had an African background, I'm sorry to say your job would probably have been to be a slave in Virginia

Job opportunities were limited. Hunter/trapper, farmer, fisherman.

most people were farmers. it was mostly large plantations, but there was enough land for everyone to sustain themselves at least. other than that, it way clergyman, doctor, or lawyer, probably one of each per town.
