Don't you mean that your baby is kicking a lot?

Anyway, no, this is totally normal. As YOUR baby gets bigger your wife will start to feel more movements and the older your baby gets the stronger the movements will feel.

Absolutely not - there is no such thing as too much movement from a baby. If there is any distress, the baby's movements will lessen, not increase, as they would be lacking in oxygen and blood supply.
As annoying as the kicking can be, it sounds like you and your wife have a very healthy baby!

EDIT: In answer to your additional details, the kicks can't hurt your wife. WHile it may feel like he's literally kicking just under the surface of the skin, there's a layer of skin, fat, muscle, 3 layers of the uterus, and then the water around th baby, so she (and the baby) are well protected...

Your WIFE'S baby? Isn't it your baby too?

And a baby thats kicking a lot is a good sign. She should be getting at least 10 good movements a day. Any less and a checkup might be necessary to make sure everything is OK.

I think it is okay for sure.

When I had my first child she never did much moving around at all.

But with my second child he moved so much it freaked me out. He was always turning and kicking! I actually think his head went back and forth like he was either kicking a soccer ball with his head or constantly saying no, no.

And his timing was always incredible, as he started getting busy just as I was resting or napping!

When he wasn't active though all was normal.
The other thing with my second one (different from the first child) was I had morning sickness THROUGHOUT the entire pregnancy, yeah that's not fun but it is worth it.

Now that he is born I see what his thing was that he did with his head back and forth, he does it all the time when he lies down and is settling himself. It's hilarious!

Don't worry and I don't think it will hurt mom if there is all that moving around. Ask your doctor a lot of questions, and get all the proper scans that will ease your mind too.

Good luck.

no, I would not have thought so, its a very good sign that baby is so active and she should enjoy it (hard at 2am I know).

My baby kicked, somersaulted, punched and span all the time, day and night and he was born very healthy. x

No they cant damage your wife! Stop worrying, women have been having babies for a long long time and the kicking has never done them any harm. Sometimes it is very uncomfortable though so give her plenty TLC. Good luck with it all.

hi, that's perfectly normal and you should not worry, i would be more worried if the baby wasn't moving or kicking. enjoy every last little kick.
I'm just over 36 wks now and i have noticed a change in my babies movements because there is not much space to move now.
good luck with the pregnancy!

I had three babies and the last one who is now 40 years old never seemed to stop kicking. He turned out ok, but I have to say he is a very lively person still, and great fun to be with. Perhaps its a sign of their character.

Its a normal healthy baby. The kick won't damage your wife but may get uncomfortable as the baby grows and stretches its limbs out all she has to do then is give her bump a rub and the baby will change position.

There is nothing wrong. The baby is just active. As it gets bigger and has less room the kicks will decrease. The baby cannot hurt your wife. Her body was made for this.
Congratulations.

I wouldn't worry, I'm 24 weeks pregnant and my baby is always kicking me, day and night and sometimes it feels strong. I have been told that the more movement the better and healthy baby she has.
So relax everything is normal.
