Like really good Bar music... Not 'slow' jazz, more like 'jivey' jazz... With just the piano... No drums, no stand up bass, or acoustics... Just Piano...

Try Art Tatum and Erroll Garner, you can't go wrong. If you like modern jazz, you have to start from "The Kohln Concert" by Keith Jarrett, but I wouldn't describe it as "jivey".

Get or listen to Art Tatum's recordings. He's the greatest stride player ever.

You can always change around the style you play. Certainly, if you have a ballad music, let's say "Blame it on my youth," you can always change the style to an upbeat "cool" feel.

Just listen to a lot of music!
