Michigan is on Eastern time (UTC-5). Italy is on Middle European Time (UTC+1).
Both are on daylight savings time as of today, putting them in time zones -4 and +2, respectively. Europe goes back to standard time this weekend; the USA goes back a week later.
To get the time difference in hours, subtract the two time zones. For instance, Detroit is currently 6 hours behind Rome: noon in Detroit is 6pm in Rome. Next week, it will be 5 hours. After that, it will be 6 hours again.

To London it is five hours difference. Noon here (usa) is 5pm in London. Italy is two time zones (Guess only) from London, so noon in the Easter Standard Time, would be 7pm Italy.
