I ride a bicycle so i just pretend im a robot... robots dont get tired... sometimes i just get "robot has encountered a problem and needs to close" and then i send an error report and pull over. My robotic state can be a real pussy sometimes...

As an over the road trucker, I am behind the wheel going somewhere up to 11 hours a day. I listen to books on tape mostly. Most libraries have them that you can check out or you can buy them. I personally belong to 'audio adventures' which is a book on tape rental business. I rent the books at one truck stop and return them at another when I am through with them. Of course these days, one can get the books on cd also.
I also have satellite radio...xm. There is over 200 channels of no fade music, talk radio, old time radio and sports. It is a subscription type of thing like cable...think it is like $10 a month+plus the cost of the radio which is about $70 depending on the place purchased and what type of sales promotion xm is having.

I take it that you mean, what do you do while driving to distract you from being concerned about your arrival?
Myself, I break up the trip to the next landmark or road change, so normally that makes the one trip into a bunch of little ones.
If I really get bored, by GPS has a black jack game built into it, and I can play blackjack using my voice for the commands. That will eat up some time and distract you from being bored while driving.
