Well.. there is always a chance that doctors can be wrong.. I have met some that did not take as much care or pay as much attention as they should of. Blood tests are usually not wrong so there may be another cause other than pregnancy but you very well could be pregnant.. also if you do not get your period then you are not ovulating and you cannot get pregnant. Good luck

Blood tests are very rarely wrong in this case. In my case I had the same symtoms as you and I was never pregnant, this went on for about a year. The doctors tested for almost every possible thing that could cause this in a woman except for one thing. When I called my ob and said I'm lactating and I know for sure I'm not pregnant is when they finally found out what was wrong. I had a tumor on pituitary gland that was making my body think it was pregnant. Now, keep in mind it took a year before I started the lactating after all the other stuff happened. I had to get an MRI, go on medicine and now I am pregnant. I was told because of the tumor I may never have a baby. So, yes sometimes doctors are wrong, but that doesn't make them stupid; even though we may feel like they are. Certain symptoms have multiple outcomes. Give it some time, maybe do some research, and approach your doctor with your findings and see what he/she says. Or get a second opinion(that never hurts), and see what you are told. Good luck. I really hope you get your wish soon!!!!!

It is possible that you are pregnant now, but it is very unlikely that the doctor was wrong before. At home pregnancy tests aren't always accurate, but the blood tests performed at the doctors office are almost fail-safe.

I can't really tell from your question about the order of events, but if the spotting was before you visited the doctor, then you weren't pregnant then. If it was after, then it could have been implantation bleeding, but it was more likely just a light period.

You seem to be under a lot of stress, which can cause your periods to become irregular, and if you had a miscarriage recently then that will alter your cycle for several months.

I agree with the previous post that said you should wait a few months before trying again. Go ahead, have sex, but don't expect to get pregnant for a few months until your hormones return to normal levels. The condition of your uterine wall might not be back to normal yet after your miscarriages, which could be causing you to have more trouble conceiving. If you wait a few months, your hormone levels will return to more normal levels, you might be under less stress which will make it easier to conceive, and you will be less likely to miscarry. In the meantime, start taking prenatal vitamins and ask your doctor to run some more tests.

I lost a baby - it was very early on. I didn't have a period for 3 months afterwards and was convinced I was pregnant, but I wasn't.
I believe that if the body needs a recovery time, your period will just stop.
In most cases, a doctor would be able to feel your womb and know if you're expecting or not, so I would say that you're not at the moment.
If I were you, I would go back to 3 months of using a barrier method, then start trying again. It gives you a clear period of time to settle down and then look for signs.
Good luck xxx

I once didn't get my period for three months and I wasn't pregnant. I took zillions of home pregnancy tests, then it randomly came back.

blood tests are very accurate, and home pregnancy tests are about 99% accurate, I would suggest taking a hpt, the chance of both being false negative would be less than .01%! I wouldn't waste my time with another dr's appointment, unless your period didn't come for another month or even two, but thats just what I would do.

I don't think the " doctors are stupid". I think that there is something else, other than pregnancy, that is causing your period to be irregular. There are lots of reasons for irregular periods. A blood test is the most accurate way to know if you are pregnant and if that's negative, the chances are very slim that you are pregnant.

Good luck,
missy

I'm no expert but I would guess that there is a POSSIBILITY you COULD be pregnant. I don't see how knowing that is going to help you one bit though- you're still left wondering.

Just because a doctor isn't able to give you all the answers you want, right when you want them doesn't make them stupid. They have probably studied 10x more than you have in life and know a great deal. I'm sick of hearing people complain about their doctors when they have problems in their own lives. Yes, it is frustrating to not know something. If your doctor is a poor doctor than I would say YOU are the only one that is stupid, for continuing to see him/her!

You didnt mention if you had been on the pill or not. Sometimes the pill can cause the lining of the uterus to thin, which can stop your periods.

of course, the only real way to know is to take a pregnancy test. And DEFINETLY get a second opinion!

I haven't heard of blood tests being wrong. Relax and enjoy being with your husband. The more you worry and stress out the less likely you'll get pregnant.

Try a new doctor. I haven't heard of blood tests being wrong but I guess there is a first for everything.
