You let your little nieces jump on your stomach!!! Yes that is dangerous!

Also, lifting heavy things isn't good. Studies have shown that pregnant who work strenuously while pregnant are at a greater risk for miscarriage and premature birth. Do be careful about that, only light exercise for you.

Go talk to your doctor, mine told me to take it easy. I was a completely healthy pregnant lady, but he told me this anyway. He said extra strain or stress can cause early labor.

Do be careful! Good luck with your baby.

It is safe to do whatever type of lifting you are already used to. And you will know when the time comes to stop lifting. I did martial arts for the first three months of my current pregnancy. Finally the day came that I couldn't do it without feeling dizzy. I stopped. As far as maternity leave goes. You may not feel the need to take it at all. I have friends who have bartended and waitressed up until giving birth. With my current pregnancy I stopped working at 33 weeks. And this was only because I have extremely bad Sciatica. If not for that I would still be working.

I don't think it's a good idea to let your neices do that and lifting heavy things isn't good for the baby. The further along you get the more limitations you may have.

You need to avoid these things. Obviously, if your body is used to this sort of lifting it isn't as dangerous as someone who never lifts to come in and have to lift these things. You should ask for help/your boss knows you're pregnant, right? My daughter sometimes accidentally jumps on my stomach and I let her know to not do that, it hurts. She doesn't understand that I'm pregnant yet. Don't be afraid to ask for help and tell your nieces to be careful. Good luck.
