keep it as cool as possible. Also if your pumpkin starts to shrivel up on you. You can soak it in a tub of cold water for several hours to help perk it back up again.

If you haven't cut the pumpkin yet then wait until
the night before Halloween. Otherwise, try and keep it cool so as to slow down decomposition.

Make sure that less than half the area is carved, so it won't collapse in on itself. Coat all cut surfaces including the inside, with Vaseline.

put it in the freezer if it is already cut.
if it isnt cut yet then wait to cut it until the day before halloween.

Bring it to the local morgue and have em pump it full of embalming fluid.
