Maytag's have a fuse that reacts to a clogged air vent , and it is common to have more lint than anything in the exhaust vent. Once you have removed all of the lint then you have to replace the thermal sensor it is mounted on the heating element either the gas or electric. Good luck

Did he remove the front panel and inspect the blower wheel? If it is loose, stripped out,(it is plastic) then it will take twice as long for the clothes to dry and blow the fuse. Did he bother to check the vent going outside? Too much heat from very little venting can cause dryer to prematurely shut down and delay drying of clothes. The housing where the lint filter goes has to be removed and cleaned to prevent overheating annd thus fuse blowing incidents. In rare cases the controling thermostat located on the cover of the blower housing will fail to operate correctly (bi-metal contacts froze together)during the drying cycle. This can cause fuse failure.I could go on and on.

It's overheating for some reason. Whether a short somewhere, a bad heat sensor, or your dryer vent is plugged....somewhere, either in the machine or in the vent leading outside. After 6 minutes tho I'd be looking at the machine and being the culprit. Don't know what to say about your lazy butt repairman.
