My plants are developing small fruit fly like bugs??? What do I do??

1/4" of sand on top of the soil will prevent hatching. Adult gnats will die, new kids won't be born. They are usually followed by spider mites, watch for tiny spots on leaves and fine webs. Spectracide 3 in 1 spray will kill the mites.

Possibly aphids.....use a little soapy water and spray them down, it will suffocate them
