It's easier to block spammer's on Hotmail than it is on Yahoo. That I know for a fact.
IF Yahoo has spam filters, I wouldn't tell anyone. Most of my junk mail comes directly from Geo cities users or people with Yahoo accounts either from South America, Southern Europe, the Orient, or California. And they are doing "nothing" about it!

they are all free and you can sign up for them all then try them and figure out which one you like best. I have mine through my internet provider but I use my Yahoo more often. Depends on how much spam you get just don't go to those sites that offer free stuff BIG MISTAKE they take over a e-mail quick and if you go to alot of chat it is always good to have 2 different ones the one for family, friends, and business and the other strictly for internet surfing. If there is a gaming site you trust throw them the one with family etc... if not throw them the other one they ask you to verify and go in and check once a month clear it out of junk e-mail your good to go.

All are excellent, but persinally I prefer Hotmail. Hotmail provides an easy to use interface, in which it shows directly where junkmail goes, it scans all attachments before download to make sure there is no virus, Yuo can mark certain people as safe and non safe, and any random messages you keep getting fro ma site you are able to block the sender, so that you don't anymore. That's all I can think of offhand.

Hotmail flat out sucks. I get about 50 spam messages a day to my inbox. Almost half of those are actually sent by hotmail member services. It spams its own users.
The other two are about even from what Ive seen when using them. Gmail is my primary one though.

I've been using Yahoo mail for years and it has served me well. I don't know about the other ones, but yahoo has a great spam filter and preference options.
I would definitely recommend Yahoo!

Totally Gmail. I've had all 3 and Gmail is wonderful. There is NO spam whatsoever and your storage keeps growing, they show you how many GB you can store and it never stops. If you need an invite, give me your e-mail! I'd be more than happy to give you one!! :)

Hotmail's free version is pretty good but you have to pay to get all the best features. It doesn't have search.
Yahoo.com is also good and it does let you search the messages.
Google's is probably the best of the free versions but they have that system that matches advertisements to the words in your messages, so if that monitoring bothers you the others will be fine.
