Mizzou is short for Missouri... On TV when showing the score they should say Missouri but when showing stats they usually say Mizzou... Either way it's the same team! A pretty damn good one not to mention!

Mizzou is short for "The University of Missouri," the big land-grant university in Columbia. The abbreviation that the TV networks use is generally "MIZ" or "MIZZ".

A couple of years ago, Coach Gary Pinkel also nicknamed Memorial Stadium and Farout Field "The 'Zou", and fans have adopted it.

Mizzou has just cracked the top 10 in the polls and BCS standings for the first time in a very long time. Hooray! Hoorah! Mizzou, Mizzou! A bully for ol' mizzou, rah rah rah, Mizzou-rah! Mizzou-rah! Tigers!

There is no difference. It is just a nickname to refer to Missouri without having to say all of 3 syllables. I guess saying only 2 syllables is much easier.

They are one and the same. You must be mistaken.
