For 35 years now we have allowed him to eat as much rabbit, pheasant, duck and pidgeon from the estate as he likes - road kill of course. We have allowed him to live rent free in an old hut in the woods and the use of a bicycle, free of charge. Now he seems to have been mixing with some lefty types and is demanding a wage! Do you think this is reasonable?

Keep an eye on that one. D.H. Lawrence gave us the low-down on his types. First they start on the rabbits, ducks, etc., then...

I would kick him out at the first opportunity or arrange a retirement at the next hunt. Surely some shooters with poor eyesight...perish the thought.

Oh dear, oh dear, I wonder what have you done to contribute to this situation? For all intents and purposes it appears that Mellors is trying to raise himself above his station... have you, by any chance, given him grounds to think that he can do so? Or has he suddenly woken up after spending 35 years in the dark, dazed by the enchanted forest?

Good Lord...Why don't you shoot him and get a new one?. You could tell the police that you mistook him for a very ungainly deer wearing a woolly hat.
