This is a Japanese poem; this type of poem is called a "Haiku." It tells of a cherry blossom ruined by too much sun. Now, it will never develop into the fruit. The poem tells us that we should take everything in moderation. Like fire, we cannot live without the sun, but too much sun can also kill us, just as fire can provide light and warmth, but also destroy. The fires currently raging in California are an example of the bad side of fire.

Poems as well as art can be interpreted in different was. It just depends on the person observing the art or poem. I would guess the writer feels alone and has been hurt before. How do you see it?
