I buy for my 2 teenage kids, my parents, my inlaws, my sister and her husband, my husband's sister and her husband, his brother and his wife and their kids. I also buy for a few CLOSE friends at work. I don't buy for my aunts and uncles, cousins, etc. I just have too many. Also, my hubby and I enjoy waiting until after Christmas to get what we want. I mean we really have all we need. We pick up clothes at after Christmas sales and stuff. Sometimes we do big items like a computer or remodel something in the house, furniture, etc. Some years we just don't do anything. We are so very blessed!

I do hate the way Christmas is getting so expensive. It takes a huge bite into our budget to get the gifts that we buy. Still, I think it is worth it. We don't go overboard or anything. I LOVE CHRISTMAS!!!!!

My husband, kids, mom. The I send something to an aunt and two cousins - a family type gift like an afghan, personalized gift, popcorn factory gift basket. A few years back the whole family would pick a name out of a hat and just buy for that person. It saves a lot of money and none of us want to spend tons of time at the mall buying someone a stupid sweater that they could buy for themselves!! Plus, for us it's about being together, not about buying gifts.

I like Christmas shopping. I bu presents to our son, my husband, my inlaws, my husband's niece and since my own family lives in another country, I just send them money( for my brothers, sisters, nieces and nephew). I also buy presents for my co-workers and some friends and relatives that I know will come for christmas dinner. Lots of presents to buy, huh? I don't buy presents for my boss at work. Instead, I gave him and his wife homemade goodies in a basket ( I like baking banana bread, fudge, fruit balls, meringue kisses to name a few).

I buy for my 3 brothers, my mom and dad, my dog (she has her own little stocking its cute) and my guineapigs. My best friends, my coach, which i have know for 10 years. And this 3 year old, and her mom, the 3 year old is named emily, and she is like my sister. When i am not there she calls for me. Now I am like part of there family. And we ride horses together. I have a grab bag gift for my family that lives near us. I don't really like them and I have to spend christmas with them, It sucks.( i don't get along because they don't like me, and i never even said a word to them) And for a bunch of my moms side cousins in Ohio. I get along with them. My baton twirling team. Thats really it.

Our family's always been mellow, so sometime around (earlier or later) we'll buy stuff for each other while we're hanging out. Or just bring it when we visit. Kinda like: "Wow, I like this..."

"Really?"

"Yeah!"

"OK, cool, merry x-mas"

The girl I live with is intense about it, though, so although it's the same, it's earlier by a day or two or on the day.

It's really up to you. Did they get you something last year?

I really think Xmas has gotten out of control and some people buy gifts for everyone they bump into, like the mailman.

I am satisfied buying gifts only for my immediate family and for those who really mean something to me. That's worked for me all these years.

However I do get gift cards (to places I like) just in case I get a gift from someone I didn't buy for. I use the cards if I don't give them out.
