I am having a big element science project and I choose to do it on silver. I got a lot of information of it but i still need to know these things:
>number of electron (in proper energy levels)
>physical properties
>chemical properties
>how it reacts chemically (compounds formerd)
>where it's found
> and any other useful or interesting facts
so if someone can help i'll love them so much. This is a big science project that will help my grade a lot and I need all the help i can get!
Thank you

> Electrons per shell: 2, 8, 18, 18, 1
> Physical appearance: Lustrous white metal
> Physical properties: Very ductile and malleable
> Chemical properties: Highest electrical and thermal conductivity for a metal
> How silver reacts chemically:
Reaction of silver with air
- Silver metal is stable in clean air under normal conditions.
Reaction of silver with water
- Silver does not react with clean water.
Reaction of silver with the halogens
- The thermally stable silver difluoride, silver(II) difluoride, AgF2, is formed in the reaction of silver metal and fluorine, F2.
Ag(s) + F2(g) → AgF2(s) [brown]
Reaction of silver with acids
- Silver metal dissolves in hot concentrated sulfuric acid.
Silver metal also dissolves in dilute or concentrated nitric acid, HNO3.
>Where is silver located: The principal sources of silver are copper, copper-nickel, gold, lead and lead-zinc ores obtained from Peru, Mexico (both states mining silver from 1546 and still major world producers), China and Australia.
> Other facts: Silver nitrate was used for medical purposes as it has antimicrobial and disinfectant properties.
Silver is used today by the clothing the clothing industry to prevent growth of bacteria and fungi - due to its microbial properties.
I hope your homework goes well, goodluck.
