I mean seriously. How do they expect people to get their banking done when they are only open business hours...those hours are great for just that, businesses...but for the average working person, it's impossible to get your banking done!

I never said have them open at night...I said on the weekends, when people have time to go. And Lily, so young...most banking can't be done at ATMs. That's why we have banks. That we can't get to. Because we're at work...

No, I live in Canada. Which is close, apparently.

And what is with snippy rude YAs? It isn't a stupid rhetorical question, it's one that I want a fraking answer to!

Well...because they're at work too, have families and things to do just like you.

Seriously, what do you really need to do at the bank anyway? I NEVER EVER go to the bank - mail in deposits, bank online, etc. I don't even know when the last time I saw the inside of a bank was.

Does your work not give you time to do such things if you insist on 20th century banking? Maybe you should change jobs.

I've never understood this either. BUT I work second shift so that really isn't a problem for me. Since probably 60% of America works first shift, banks and doctors offices should be open like 11-7 or something instead of 8-4 or 9-5.

Yes, I am in agreement with you. I guess they think anyone can take off from work whenever they wish.

Some banks are open until late on one or two nights per week. Some banks are open half a day on Saturday. Call your bank and find out the hours and dates.

Wouldn't it be nice if banks had second shifts too? Then everyone would be able to get their banking done. Anyway, historicaly speaking, when businesses were open that's when banks were open. I think it was actually easier to get time to go to the bank back in the good ol' days than it is now. Also, I think employers tended to pay you in cash so you didn't have to go to the bank to cash your paycheck.

The bank I used to work for opens every day and saturdays.
You can post items to them and they will process them, they will return a stamped paying in book upon request. Many have deposit machines in banking halls where the cash machines are and you can deposit items there. The machine issues a receipt.

You just have to find out what services you can access and use them.

I believe that some branches in larger shopping centres also open sundays.

I've had the same question... Honest people are at work and thieves are out in force robbing the banks of the money that the people are working hard to make...

Kind of like the US government...

What are your working hours? Most banks around where I live have hours seven days a week. Most banks have branches in grocery stores. Do you live in the Ozarks?
