People get married because they fall in love with someone, and want to spend forever with them, raise children together, and to live happily with that one person. Some people do it for the wrong reasons too...Personally, I cannot WAIT to get married. I'm so excited to start a family and living my life as an adult.

Because it's a long road alone. Getting married gives you a life partner. Someone to share everything with.....the good things and the bad things and all the things in between. It gives you somebody to collaborate with on decisions that have to be made, and somebody to share the rewards &/or repercussions with. And it's an automatic date on Saturday night.

The majority of people feel that by being
married, they will achieve Exclusivity!
(But we all know people will cheat anyway!)

Marriage is a Business Contract.
Most laws are enacted to protect women

People get married in the hope of improving their life. No one marries to sacrifice for the other person. People marry because somehow they believe it makes life better for themselves. Once you understand this basic rule, you can start to understand why a man wants to marry and why he doesn't.

* i didn't write this btw.*

Because it's tradition; to convince themselves or others of the validity of their commitment; religious observance tells them it's correct; they want a party in honor of their love.

If both want to marry, that's great. If both aren't interested but are committed to each other, equally great. The problem arises when one partner wants marriage and the other doesn't!!

People get married for all kinds of reasons. Love, financial stability, social status, the desire to have kids not out of wedlock....there are many other reasons...everyone has their own though and everyone doesn't marry for the same reason.

Marriage sets a defining line of how serious a couple is. I mean, how would you feel dating someone for 40 years? It'd become almost normal to walk out on a long-term relationship.

To have and raise children responsibly. to legally bind each other financially together in joint ownership of assets acquired together. Tax breaks.....because it's expected or they're pressured by family/partner....or Because they've bought into this whole religion thing- rules, sins, sanctity of marriage....
(Which is really sanctioned by the government)

Or, finally, because they honestly believe this is the person they want to spend the rest of their lives with.
