I'm a pessimist, but you probably won't believe me and I'm sure you won't care anyway.

I'm optimist that things will go well, get better, have a happy ending, etc., but when life goes the other direction I tend to get pessimistic. So it depends on where I'm at in my day/life.

I am an optimistic pessimist, I am absolutely, positively sure things will go wrong

Optimist. I don't let anything bother me. Being pessimistic would only make you depressed all the time.

I am a realist. Sometimes I see the bright side and other times I prepare for the worst. I would like to think of myself as an optimist. It's happier.

I am an optimist married to a pessimist so we balance each other out.

I'd have to say that I am an optimist. I tend to look on the bright side of things and rarely can be found not smiling. I lean toward being a realist too though and don't let myself get fooled often anymore.

That's a good question. I'll have to give you a star! I used to
be more of a fatalist, but I've improved a notch and now I am
more a full time pessimist with maybe a tad of optimism
thrown in. Murphy's Law has ruled over us for most of my adult
life. And it's been a rough ride for much of the journey.
I have this well known saying as my creed it seems: in that,
"if it weren't for bad luck, I wouldn't have any luck at all".

The majority of the time I am an optimist. But I must confess to getting down a couple of times a year and surrendering to a pity party. But I try to do reality checks periodically and when I catch myself feeling negative I try to count my blessings. No matter how bad life gets I've all ready faced my worst "fears" and survived them.

In general, I'm a realist. But if I'm with someone who is depressed, I tend to be more of an optimist, just to bring them up out of the doldrums.
