for christmas my grandma is going to get me either an ipod or an mp3 player, but i only am choosing the ipod if it is able to download mp3 music. i just need some answers..please DONT answer if you've never tried it..i dont want guessing. Thank you!

yes i have an ipod nano and it takes mp3 music

ipods can use many different types of music, including MP3.
the songs from the itunes store come in M4P format (mpeg-4 protected) but can be converted into an MP3 file by putting it onto a CD thru itunes.

Yes. I have two ipods and at least half of my music collection is in mp3 format.
