If you want to work - GO FOR IT! There's nothing wrong accepting a job, most employers won't hire someone who is so advanced in their pregnancy. Just remember to disclose to them your situation before you sign anything. They are required by law to give you time for doctors appointments, and to allow you to take maternity leave. Discuss this with your doctor and see how he/she feels about you taking on the extra responsibility. He/she may tell you to take it easy the rest of the way, or possibly encourage you to get out of the house and enjoy the extra cash in your pocket so you can pamper your little one when he/she arrives. Some women work right up until they go into labor, others take their leave a week or two before their expected due date. Either way, having an understanding employer is without a doubt invaluable.

I wish I could have found a job .. but from about 6 months on, I was told that I was too much of a liability for most of the businesses here for them to hire a pregnant woman as far along as me :(

You're pregnant, not an invalid.

If you want to work, and you think this is the job for you, and your doctor hasn't said anything about any restrictions, then go for it.

During my two pregnancies, and with my OB's blessing, I played indoor soccer until I was about 6 months. I commuted to and from work on my bicycle. I worked out. I did yoga. And I worked right up until the end.

There's nothing harmful about sitting as long as you listen to your body and get up and move around when you need to. (Which is no problem, really, because you have to pee all the time!)

If you're in the US, most employers will only give you 6 weeks of paid leave (8 for a C-section). And that's at partial salary. They have to hold your job for you for at least 12 weeks. But there is no rule about when you take maternity leave. You take it when you want to. Lots of people work as long as they can so they have more time with the baby after the birth.
