i only have my drivers permit and i live in rhode island. I want to drive my sisters car, but she lives in Massachusetts and her car is registered in Mass. She has been driving for 6 years so I know i can drive with her but i dont know if i can drive her car because its a MA car and its registered in MA. I also know that I can only drive in RI....
so my question is can I drive my sisters car in RI, even though she has a car from MA?? thankyou!

Its not exactly a straight answer but I don't know why you couldn't. The only thing I can think of is calling the department of motor vechiles out there in rhode island and tell them your sister is visiting from Massachusetts, you have to tell them you have a learner permit and see if you can drive her car with her in rhode island. Or you could call the police department and explain your situation and they should be able to tell you if its illegal or not. I think you should be able to but I would check with the laws in your state just to be safe. Good luck

You can drive ANY Legal Car with Any Full-Licensed Driver,,as long as You drive in R.I.
A Fully Licensed Driver is Legal to drive in any state.
A Legally Registered car "visiting" another state is recognized as Legal in any state.
Learner's Permits are recognized as Valid by Some States,
but Not Others.
So,As long as You're Driving in Rhode Island,,
You can Legally drive a Car registered in Florida with a Driver Licensed in Oregon if you want to,,,or any combination.
Ok?

A permit just says that you have to have a licensed driver with you. Drivers licenses and permits are good between all states unless you live there permanently and then need to switch your license to that state. Car licenses are also good until you need to renew them and then you have to get them in the state where you live. So get behind the wheel and don't worry.

As long as you have a permit and the passenger is licensed and over 18, you can drive any make or model all over RI....unless it's stolen.

Why wouldn't you be able to? I live in Texas and I see cars from all over the US here. I don't think there would be a problem with it.
