My Hubby is very experienced in this technique. He waits until I get really fired up and then he just quits and gives in. He does it even if he knows I am wrong.
It is frustrating and then I am left with anger I have to redirect at something else. I'm truthfully not an angry person but like everyone else I do have a breaking point.
I call that not playing fair!!! I just get going, get all my words in line and then bang...
it's over.
I do the other trick. I chase him around and bother him try to rekindle the fire.
Doesn't work but does get rid of my anger.
He's so lucky he can do this.

I can see how that could be annoying, but I'm guilty of it only with my boyfriend though. My thinking on it is when he's mad he's just as unreasonable and stubborn like his father (which is horrible! Long story on that) and it just isn't worth it to me to keep arguing over something small. I usually do it so he can cool off and then discuss it like adults when we've both calmed down. Besides, when he's mad he thinks he's always right anyway. A lot of pride runs in his family.

I've actually done both...I will argue to make my point because I'm stubborn and bull headed and like to be right. But sometimes I see where the other person is coming from and have to say they're right. This is true especially in marriage.

No. The only one I argue with is my boss and he's always right (even when he's wrong). I learned a long time ago to let him have the last word -- then do it my way anyway.

Nah, although I love a good debate, I also love winning a debate. That's the point of arguing. I just accept their concession with a "yes... I *am* right."

Yes! Because then I don't have the right to yell anymore and tell them how wrong they are and how right I am.
Annoys the hell outta me.

I just smoke a cigarette to signal the end of the argument. I think that is the universal sign!

Na, I just say "you're right!" "Now let's get to those spankins" and move on! Not a problem there!
