I have homecoming tonight and I can't tie a tie to save my life here... I looked it up and I got the windsor knot down packed. The only problem is once I tie it the narrow end of the tie extends out the bottom of the wide end and apparently that's not supposed to happen... how do I make it not do that? I've tied it in a hundred ways to try and get it to not but when I tighten it to my neck it always does. Please help me!!

No I know how to tie it perfectly fine... it's actually quite easy... but what's causing the narrow end to stick out the bottom!? Cause it's like the tie is too big or something.

put it around your neck.
big side wrap twice around the small side.
pull it up through the neck hole part where your neck is.
pull it down through the little triangle-like hole you've created.
adjust as nessesary.

haha. and im a fourteen year old girl.
i used to tie my dads every morning since i was like three.

EDIT:
oh, just make sure that when youre starting it, you make the little end shorter up towards your neck than the big end.

I know I'm a girl but my dad taught me how...

so first off put the thin side to the left and the wider part to the right of your neck

Then the thin part should only be like a hands width (for me maybe shorter for you) from the collar bone down

Got that? Ok. now cross them right side one on top. Good now that then one on top and take it in and around sort of like tieing a knot.

Ok now the big one should still show on top so bring it around back towards your right shoulder and wrap it around the part hanging from your right shoulder just like the last part

Hope your still with me here. OK now you should have a V looking shape hanging down. Wrap the big part around the front of the V from the right shoulder to the left. Bring around back and through center. Slip in inbetween the V and the cover you made and pull down

Now tighten it up and you should have your tie tied. Hope this helps.

Edit: I put the instructions so you can make sure it's done right. But anyways the thin end is a hands width or less from the collar bone down.

ok make the narrow end of the tie only come down past your shoulder like three inches...you get what i mean... if you are making the ends of the tie even when you tie it it will definitly make it uneven in the end. it is really hard to explain sorry i couldn't be more help...have fun tonight and have a great day!
