When you divide by a fraction, this is what they told us in school:

"Never mind the reason why, just invert and multiply."

The answer is 32, and a good way of thinking about it is that you are trying to count the number of 3/4's there are in 24. Like, there are 24 1's in 24. So, there are 32 3/4's in 24.

Alright, get a pen and a piece of paper. 24 divide by 3/4. If it's a divide, you gotta flip it. Flip the 3/4 upside down. So it would be 4/3. And then you take the 24 and multiply it with 4/3. So it would look something like this, 24/1 x 4/3. I'm sure you've learnt multiplications in Fractions right? But if you haven't, I'll try explaining to you. Anyways, you gotta simplify the 24/1 x 4/3. So, divide 24 by 3. Cancel the 3 and write 1 beside it. And then, cancel the 24 and write 8 beside it. Then, multiply 8 and 4. And that's how you get your 32. It's actually very easy. It just looks complicating cuz I'm typing it. Don't worry, you'll get it soon. You can always ask your Math teacher if you have problems with her lessons. Best of luck.

(24 / 3/4) is the same thing as (24/1 / 3/4).

Multiply by the reciprocal of 3/4 (24/1 X 4/3) because 24/1 / 3/4 = 24/1 X 4/3

Multiply the numerator and the denominator. (24x4)= numerator and (1x3)= denominator.

Should get (96/3) which reduces to (32/1)=(32)

(32) should be your answer.

For those people who kept getting 18 as an answer, heres a question for you: what is 24 X 3/4 equal to?

Also, if you multiply a fraction by a whole number, the number is obiously going to be less. So, if you divide a whole number by a fraction, wouldn't the number be bigger?

Think about it

Use a calculator.

It's 32.

But if you multiplied 24 by 3/4, then it would be 18.

18.

Do mental math.

24 divided by 4 is 6. That give us 1/4 of 24.

Since 6 times 4 equals 24 (4/4 of 24).....and because you only want 3/4 of 24....

Mulitply 6 times 3.

6 times 3 is 18.

Simple.

Note:::
The other answers are WRONG. Think about it. How could 3/4 of 24 be 32? Duh. The answer is obviously 3/4 of 24 is clearly less than 24. How could 3/4 of 24 possible be 32!!!???

Try this:
If you have 24 pizzas and you give away 3/4. How many did you give away? Answer: You gave away 18 and now you have 6 left.
