You succeed in the long term ONLY IF you put into practice what you learned.

One only succeeds if they choose to do something about what they learned from failing. If they just have a realization...but don't do anything about it to grow from it and make sure it doesn't happen again, then no, they don't succeed.

There's a few things in my life that I've failed one of life's lessons...however, if I let the same thing happen again (which in a couple of cases I have) then no, I didn't succeed. I still failed. In my life I try not to focus on the fail part...I just pick myself up again, understanding I'm human and start over again...I'm a work in progress :)

Yes, but in only one way out of 2.
And if someone goes out, kills someone, and then learn that it was the wrong thing to do, do they succeed?

how about if you don't fail but learn nothing then do you really fail..

Any learning situation that you then can and do apply to life for later on is succeeding. If you don't fail but never apply anything to life later on then you are a failure.
Succeeding is about learning from your mistakes and acting on them to not make the same mistakes again.

Yes, every experience in life can be viewed as a positive one if you change your life for the better afterward and move on with an optimistic outlook.
