It should never 'need' brake fluid, since it's a closed hydraulic circuit and brake fluid doesn't get used up nor does it evaporate. If it is low on fluid, you have a leak somewhere in the system, find it and fix it.

As the brake pads ware down, more brake fluid is required to take up the space.
Topping up the master cylinder is a frequent maintenance procedure.
There should be full & low level lines on the master cylinder to tell you if fluid should be added.
Brake fluid is clear with a slight tint of yellow.
When the fluid turns a solid yellow color, it's time to change it.
Brake fluid deteriorates over time.
Brake systems should usually be replenished every other year, regardless of how many miles are put on the vehicle.

its dhould have a gage somwhere . if there is a big air bubble then you should add some. brak fluid dosent evaporate butwhen brake pads wear it uses more break fluid.
