We are way off too scared about Islamic terrorism in these days. The security measures have been top-class since 9/11 and it's not like there's a terrorist around every corner, not at all. Fear-mongering is bigger threat for Americans than actual terrorism.

It is a threat. However, I think the Americans lack of unity and addiction to comfort and safety is a greater weakness than the threat. Other serious threats are our own arrogance and ignorance.

If you compare how America was in the world wars of the 20th century with how the public is today, maybe you will see how much more we were united and motivated to win then.


Why don't we have Victory Gardems and recycling drives? Why not bring back the draft? Why aren't the sons and daughters of the President and other American leaders volunteering for the war effort? Leaders should lead by example. Instead, we have many of our leaders squabbling, getting caught for corruption like Governor George Ryan of Illinois, or like that Senator from Idaho getting caught looking for sex in men's bathrooms.
