ok so wed wmy hip hop class was learning to break with stalls and what not and then thursday my neck really hurt now today my neck doesn't hurt but the front of my chest does and it hurts when i rotate my shoulders trying to stretch them what do i do to make this stop i have to go into the studio monday and i don't want to be sore!!! thanks guys!!

You probably pulled a muscle. You can take Advil (Ibuprofen) to relieve the pain and reduce inflammation. You can also put ice on the places that hurt, because you probably have a little inflammation there. Relaxation massage woud be good too. If you're still very sore on Monday it might be better to just watch the class. When you pull a muscle it's better to let it rest.

i don't think you pulled anything, i think you probably used some different muscles from the ones you normally use in class, that's why you are hurting. even though they are sore, stretch them out good. the more you use those muscles, the less they'll be sore.

I agree that you probably pulled a muscle. Use aspirin and try heat and ice, and if that doesn't help then it might be something more serious, go to a doctor. They might recommend a physical therapist. Good luck.

Take a wash cloth or small bath towel, sprinkle some water on it and microwave it for 30 seconds- 1 minute. it will be hotter than hell, but keep it on the sore area as much as possible, it will help to loosen up the musle.
