when referring to money to do you say "I have 6 bucks" or "I have 6 dollars"

I usually say dollars. Bucks is old fashioned, although some younger people still use the word. I don't always say either, like I'll say "I have 16", and a lot of people do that too.

Bucks seems to be used to stress amounts, like someone might say "it only costs five bucks", or "did you see how expensive that restaurant was? They were charging 27 bucks a plate."

I say dollars when I am pleased with the sum of money I have and bucks when I'm not (Like when I saying "I have 200 dollars!" compared to "I only have six bucks..." )

I am a strange one.

I say both....sometimes I say 5 bucks and then other times 20 dollars...or vice versa....I like both expressions.

I say both. It depends on what character I'm "playing". You see, I don't speak english in my normal life because I live in Sweden, but when me and my friend are talking in english I sometimes say bucks and sometimes dollars. If I'm "hard" I say bucks otherwise I say dollars I think. =P Lol!

both...if im talking 2 sum1 like a teacher i say dollars, but for friends i usually say bucks

Lol the only time i use bucks is when i say 5bucks

The rest of the time its like 20 dollars
