First thing I really take note of is the floor. If it's filthy, then buhbye... would rather hold it in for the next couple of hours. ^_^

First, whether someone flushed it or left me a nasty surprise to gaze upon.
Second, whether someone peed all over the toilet (amazing how some women can actually do that!).
Third, whether there are any toilet seat protection covers to put down.
And finally, if there is any toilet paper because I don't sit down and do my business unless I know for sure there's some toilet paper!

Where the toilet is, because if I use a public one, it means I REALLY have to go, otherwise I only use my own, or my work one. So if I am in a public one, I don't care what condition it is in, as long as there is someone to go at lol.

The lighting, then the floors and the smell. Then the construction (is it really just a closet that they put a toilet in?) The cleanliness and the sink area - I am one who loves soap & the lastest technology in sinkware, bcuz I don't wanna touch something everyone else has touched. I like the motion sensor sinks and hand dryers.

How dirty it is, if the lock works, if the person before me flushed, if they left any surprises on the seat, and how much toilet paper is left. I think that there is nothing worse than having a disguisting bathroom. That's why I try to use them as rarely as possible.

when there's:
1) pee all over the seat
2) toilet paper on the ground
3) a horrible smell
4) no toilet paper
5) no paper towels
I hate public bathrooms!

The smell, and then I look for cleanliness. If it's not up to my standards, and they're pretty high, I will leave and go elsewhere. I never use washrooms in gas stations. They are usually really, really gross unless they're at a service centre on major highway.
