ok so i have been TTC for 8 months and FIANLLY we think we did it, last night when i was at work some one brought in a bad of microwave popcorn he was on the other side of the room and just the smell of it made me sick i almost had to run to the bathroom...
im just wondering how many of you get the morning sickness from the smell of popcorn?
and someone told me that microwave popcorn has something in it that makes pregnant woman sick is that true or is it a myth?

*lol* My first pregnancy I ate microwave popcorn by the tonne. However many people find the smell bothersome even when they aren't pregnant (like my poor husband).
The newest theory is that microwave popcorn causes cancer, but only if consumed more than daily over years and years. *lol*. There is also a concern about one of the chemicals used to make the bags.

Microwave popcorn makes me sick no matter what, I'd be running too. But it sure could be why you are sensitive to the smell now.

Women can get nauseous from so many different smells. It is different for everyone. The fact that the smell of popcorn made you vomit is a sure sign of morning sickness, but I would follow up with a pregnancy test and a doctor visit.

Anything can make a pregnant woman sick. For me and it still is 3 years later, is the smell of Shell gas. I would turn green. I can also tell if someone parked next to me at the grocery store uses Shell gas.
One really strange craving I had was sauerkraut. I absolutely HATED it before I got pregnant and one day I ate 3 hot dogs with it on. My son is 3 now and I still eat it.

Never heard of popcorn in particular making anyone sick while pregnant. But the smells of certain foods for certain women can make them feel sick while they are pregnant!

I CRAVE popcorn ever since I got pregnant...I didn't like popcorn before at all! When I started wanting popcorn, it didn't even cross my mind that I might be pregnant...but now I look back and I think to myself "ha, you should have known!". If you are pregnant, CONGRATULATIONS! Hopefully your sensitivity to that smell goes away with time!

My husband eats a bag almost every night. It didn't bother me with my 1st pregnancy, but often does this one, especially if he burns it. I think it's just because it's an overwhelming smell and I am easily driven to nausea. With the 1st nothing really made me sick.

Never made me sick.. but the smell of cooking eggs did.. oh man that was horrible. Certain smells might turn your stomach.

im not sure about popcorn but the smell of any meats or greasy food smells made me vomit everytime
