He crashed his plane in the Nevada desert and is presumed dead. It could be years before the wreckage is found. Right after he disappeared, searchers found a crashed plane that had been missing since 1964.

i havent seen anything on the news or heard an official statement but a while ago people were saying things like hes tough he will be ok, but as time goes on i doubt that.

as far as i know there has been nothing on the news...all ive seen is a couple of questions on here asking has there been any news....he's probably been given up for dead....another tragedy......

He is having to face his biggest challenge yet, to try to return from the dead. Only one other person has apparently managed this to-date. Good luck to him though, he was a braver man than I.

He obviously died, but it is CRAZY they cannot find the plane.. I find it add as well that there is not any mention of him either... he did a lot of amazing things in his life..
