There's nothing wrong with it, but I want to give it a quick clean before I have my baby. I want to make sure I remove any dust or wood particle that is left on there.

I sprayed mine with simple green (a non-toxic cleaner) before I put it together and then wiped ever piece down with a soft cloth. It is non-bleach, etc but it is a great cleaner. All natural.

If you use a very small amount of lemon oil on a rag it removes dust and is not harmful for the baby once the crib is in use.

I would not use anything harsh to clean it. If you have a vacuum with a hose and brush attachment I would just use that to vacuum the dust off.

the best thing is just a damp cloth, no chemicals but picks up dust well
