Lighten up. This is a time of life to experiment with different things. If you were talking about 30 or 40 year olds doing this, I would agree. However, youth is a time that you can be "interesting" or "different like several thousands of people" I personally would like to see a group called "Elmos" where everyone listens to and dances with our beloved Sesamie Street Character! I know I love watching my toddler nephew dancing to "Shout!"

Art is art. Fashion is fashion. You cannot control or easily influence either. What are you going to do to anyone who DARES defy you and have long hair? Line them up against the wall and shoot them for having the audacity for liking certain bands and identifying with certain cultural groups?

lol i find emo's hot. emo's are not always crying and sad. less than 1% of emo's are actually sad and always crying. it is just a fashion trend, like prep. and i find it hot
