There are, in actuality, hundreds of tornados in the United States each year (Indiana not Kansas gets the most on average) and practically every state can get one. They are so common that they often don't get reported beyond the local news unless causing extensive damage. I could find out of the newspapers 25 tornados that have hit my area since 1900 (WNC) which is hardly Tornado Alley! The Weather Channel online has extensive archives from which you could extract an immense amount of data and the US Weather Service (online) has even more data.

And please learn the difference between the following three words:

There,
Their,

&
They're

Otherwise, you might get an A in Science but an F in English!


Do you know the difference between a Cat 5 Tornado and a Cat 5 Hurricane? [outside of about 200 mph] Not much, you'll likely be blown away to Kingdom Come in either eventuality!

1990 Plainfield, IL tornado. It was a F-5 (now called a EF-5) killed 29, and occurred on August 28,1990. It was the latest ever F-5 tornado, being at the end of August.
