The carburetor is probably flooded with gas. It can't have too much gas in it for your pickup to run. Good luck on getting it to work!!!

Since you didn't mention, I'll assume you have a GM truck with a Throttle Body Injection (TBI) fuel injection unit at the top of the engine in the center of the intake manifold. Connect a fuel pressure gauge like the one below to the TBI and verify you have 65 psi fuel pressure. Spray quick start into the TBI air intake to see if it starts, runs and stalls. If so, you may have an immobilizer or fuel pump problem.

Yes check the timing . go to the local auto store and buy a timing gun instructions are in box if you have problems the guys at the store will help you.

SOUNDS LIKE IT IS EITHER GETTING TOO MUCH GAS OR THE TIMING HAS JUMPED
