This year, I have decided that the Dentist are right on.
and to each of the children I will be giving a drum set.
all ages will love it,
but when the parents find out who gave it to them, I will probably have to move to another state.

I like the vampire teeth (I take it that you mean the wax ones that you can chew if you want to?)
The little cans of Playdoh sound great, too, unless you live in an area where you get lots & lots of kids. It could get expensive, couldn't it?
Here, some people give out gift certificates for little treats at McDonald's, too.
Still, the traditional candy treats are okay by me, too. Once a year. I used to limit my kids to a certain amount per day.

Actually, my kids quite enjoy many of the little items they receive on Halloween that are alternatives to candy, especially stickers, playdoh, small wind-up toys, etc. They hate it when the dentist down the street gives toothbrushes and toothpaste. Now that's a tacky Halloween treat.

Sure..like pencils are a good thing to pass out on Halloween. Think of the bad things they could do with those.
temporary tattoos is cute and bottles of bubbles, but the rest, would be a disappointment to them.
Stick with the good fun candy that is already packaged.
Love to you.

I have heard some of the schools are cancelling the Hallowe'en parties this year because of the demon symbolism. They want to call it an orange and black festival. I have never heard of anything so ridiculous. We are losing our celebrations because they are offensive to others. When I was a kid, we used to make fudge every year to hand out but now we give the little chocolate bars. We know the parents raid the stash when the kids are in bed!

Its like I tell my wife, we have too many people dictating how to live. Most of them have fogotten what its like to be a child. And the worst offenders are people who have never had children of their won trying to dictate was is best for the child. Try feed a 6 year odl yogart and bagel for breakfast. Sugar free jam on the bagel. Eggs aren't allowed and neither is bread.
And then for halloween no candy. I believe that we have to many people in charge of what they know so little of-children.
A child's memories should be pleasnt, not bland like the cold cereal they are forced to eat. (at schools and homes for orphaned kids).

I think this is a great idea. Saves parents money by not taking their kids to the dentist to fill all those cavities, and kids love playdoh and bubbles. Plus, these are alot less expensive.

It sounds like they want kids to hate you. I give out regular size candy bars at my house. The kids love me, especially since if they come right at the end I give the last 2 kids all of the leftover candy bars. I usually buy 2 big boxes so I have leftovers.

Kids usually just want the candy. My 4 yr old is all about wanting the candy. She isn't worried about trinket prizes. It's like the one time a year, she gets to pig out!
But it is a cool alternative, if you have young school age kids in your neighborhood. I think the teenagers might egg you though. Be selective! hahaha

1 yr I gave out bubbles, and 1 yr I gave out sugarless gum.One yr I gave out quarters, and 1 yr I actually gave out toothbrushes. Now spouse and I go out for dinner and stay out for a few hrs and come back when all the kids have stopped coming. When we were kids we got apples, oranges, pears, popcorn balls, homemade fudge now everything has to be wrapped tight,or parents throw it out,and since I have grandkids who still go out I don't blame their parents.Last few yrs the schools have given a party with costumes and many kids do that instead of trick or treating.
