The Shuttle due to its high lift/drag ratio only pulls a couple of g on re-entry.

Soyuz with a lower L/D ratio can't fly as much (though it can still fly) so it tends to pull about 4 or 5 g on re-entry.

If something goes wrong on a Soyuz re-entry it can enter a ballistic re-entry in which the capsule doesn't fly and that's about 9 g or so though they tend to be very rare.

I think it is 9? I'm not sure.
