They are one in the same but it just so happens that the only Presidential candidate who really makes sense is a Republican, Ron Paul

Democrats, Republicans...what's the real difference?

I think it's because the majority of republicans are white people and some whites people have misrepresented themselves which in turn cause some of us to be repelled. Aside from the long standing history of Republicans in power who have created laws that work against African Americans. I suppose it's just going to take a while to gain a trust in the Republican party.

Blacks are voting Republican. The typical Black Republican tends to be quite affluent. People tend to vote their wallets.

The lack of black votership among AA's rests squarely with Republicans. Republicans tend to believe that everything is "alright" in the AA community. Though many of us are doing fine economically, we have family who are still stuck. The cultural biases in schools still exists that hold many minority and poor children behind. Those are the issues that concern us. Those are issues Republican choose not to address.

My boss is black -- just yesterday afternoon he was saying how he never felt like he, his family, and all those he knows, have not 'been properly seen or heard' by a single president or presidential candidate since Bill Clinton. And that he feels especially muted by Republicans because of their WASP-only fraternization. Took me a while to figure out what he meant by that, but I guess I kind of get it. Republicans can come across as very 1-sided -- and that 'side' so to speak usually consists of rich white older men and no one else. Democrats appeal more to everyone, I think, but who knows -- maybe they are just better actors.

Or New Orleans and the little help they got because?
Most soldiers in this military is black or minorities.
Yet they get very little help when they get hurt in action.
A better question is why would any black ever vote Republican. When they are for the white rich businessman who makes them work for practically nothing.
No minority or women should vote for the good old boys club.

I don't believe affirmative action has anything to do with it. Republicans tend to defend any racial injustice until it happens to a white person. There is just not enough representation for us in the republican party.

Because they want more diversity in the oval office, and there is no diversity in the Republican party.

The main reason is that Blacks are generally poor, and Republicans discriminate all poor people.
