You have to work hard. Instead of getting discovered, I prefer to talk about POSITIONING yourself to be discovered.
Remember that luck is where opportunity meets preparation.
Or some say that,
The more prepared they are, the more luck they seem to have.
So what does that mean? It means start from the beginning. The beginning is starting with you yourself:
1) knowing yourself, your strengths and weaknesses and what is special about you that no one else or that few others have.
2) develop your creativity. That will become important to you down the road when it comes time for you to promote yourself as an actor.
3) Know EXACTLY what kind of actor you want to be.
4) Have a PLAN to get where you want to go and follow it.
5) Learn how to stay MOTIVATED. You will face rejection over an over an over again and you need to keep yourself up.
6) Learn some basic business skills. They make the difference between good actors, whose work never gets seen, because they don't know how to meet casting directors and agents and good actors who get work consistently.
Then, get some good training. Go to school. You can't be a great dancer unless you learn how to dance. You can't be a great musician, unless you learn how to play an instrument. To be a great actor, you need to train.
Have a look at this page link and the rest of the site. You might find some other things that will help you get started.

Maybe join a youth theatre group at a local theatre if you want to do some amateur theatre work.
Or if you want to do some film and tv extra work research into acting agents in your area. I have a film and tv agent and have done a few different extra roles, read my profile to see what I have done!!
I think it's great having an agent, I really enjoy the work!!
If your serious about acting, go for it, it will be hard at times but persevere, don't give up!!
Good Luck!!

To be honest you have to train.
Untrained successful actors are rare.
I'm not saying there aren't lots of talented amateur actors out there..there are But the majority of casting directors and agencies want to know where you've trained before considering you.
Whatever about tv, theatre acting requires disciplined training in so many areas..voice training, movement..commedia del arte, ensemble, viewpointing, mime etc.
Shakesperian, Jacobean and other classical texts require training to achieve the correct timbre, diction, iambic pentameter etc.
So if I was you I'd go to drama school.
Otherwise you could be lucky, but more likely u'd be a long time on the fringes looking for an 'in'.

It's natural for somebody wanting to be famous. Although it's pretty differcult. For a start go to a local theatre company and talk to them explaining. Get some audition papers and begin starting from there onwards. Explain to newspapers or seek on the internet. I wanted to ACT so i searched websites and found an audition. I decided not to. But think about the conquences. You'd bee a long way. Bot follow your dream
Hope i Helped

Start getting involved wiht local theatre companies and take open casting auditions. A lot of hte itme they list open auditions in the newspaper. You should have local tehatre down before you contact an agent. This is so u have quite the resume for them to work with.
