For my own personal development, it had to be the night I bumped into a guy that had given me a really hard time when I was at school. Four years of fear, frustration, bad memories etc. all piled in to one severe doing.
Not big & not clever, but it was like a giant weight being lifted from my shoulders.

This is hard to answer. Obviously my parents but odd remarks by teachers and sometimes clergymen or youth club leaders and my wife have all had a part to play. My friends said at the time that after meeting my wife I seemed to have greater confidence. This has always been a problem with me. As a young man/boy first starting work it was of great suprise to find that I a secondary modern lad was performing better than many grammer school boys. Again I did not notice this or realise it until an elderly clerk pointed it out several times. I thought he was just being kind until I found that my way of thinking which brought derision from some of my contemporaries was often very near the mark and often listened to and taken seriously by my seniors . I also owe much to a fellow employee (several years younger and generally disliked) who gave me the benefit of his very shrewed thoughts when I was floundering around trying to make a personal decision.

I would have to say it is my passionate ability to think deeply and question everything until I see and feel the truth in things. While I'd like to take credit for this, seeing as it is my own mind, I honestly can't. It's my natural temperament. In the end, whatever is the makeup of your mind will be the world you create around yourself. (Angry mind=angry life. Happy mind=happy life)
