In my cnet email letter already they are saying about making sure in future of backing up your files in case this (the Californian Fires) should happen to you? and I understand that some insurance firms are up to that as well and putting up premiums already. I find it all a bit distasteful myself! Greed or not - what are your (no bad language etc please and please read my question properly before answering, thank you)views?

One of the things that will make my blood boil faster than anything is people that will take advantage of people that are already going through enough losses in their life!! I've seen it too much after natural and not natural disasters and it is totally disgusting and think that the ones that do it should have to face some form of punishment!! Very good question!!

While I don't agree with companies trying to make a profit off of unfortunate situations and people's tragedies and fears, the fact is that it is there job to make money and create profit for their company, and they are doing their job.

It's unfortunate, but a fact of life, and the consumer always has the choice of buying into it and participating or looking for a company that doesn't do this.

you know what they say about ill winds etc.. I think some people will prosper out of other peoples misery. This isn't right or wrong just a fact of life, unless they needlessly increase prices (insurance premiums... ) for pure greed, that is wrong.

If companies are carrying out their normal business an d not profiteering etc fair enough. Insurance Companies are only there to collect premiums.as soon as you get that into your head the rest falls into place.
