I turned my computer on today & magically a "Security Toolbar 7.1" has installed itself on my computer. No idea how it got there....it's not even in my programs so I can't uninstall it. No deleting option available. This thing is also giving me major pop-ups. Please help me get rid of this evil.
Thanx in advance for any assistance.

If RogueFix as advised by answerer #1 doesn't work, download ToolbarCop. It will show you all the toolbars and BHO's (browser helper objects) on your system and allow you to disable them.

Go to Start; Control Panel; Add Remove Programs and then look at the list of programs that are installed on your computer and see if you can see that specific item in this list. If you can, click on the change/remove button and get rid of that bad boy. You may need to tighten up your firewall to prevent those sorts of things from appearing on your computer. Good luck.

Did you look in Control Panel under add or remove? You might also right click on that toolbar and see if it's possible there? You might also try system restore going back a few days.

Assuming you're talking about IE6 or 7 , the procedure to follow is:
1.open IE
2.tools/internet options/programs tab/manage add-ons
3. in show dropdown menu, click on "add-ons currently loaded in internet explorer"
4. from the section below, find that toolbar and click disable at the bottom.
5. open up "add or remove progams" and then uninstall it the way you would normally

thnks

Sounds like spyware...

Try going to Start=>Control Panel=>Add Delete and see if it is listed there. If it is then use the control panel's add delete function.

Otherwise install a spyware detecting program and use it to delete the program...
