A friend of mine worked at an arena where the 9 Inch Nails were playing. After the concert my buddy tried to steal some of the beer that the arena supplied the band. The 9 Inch Nails drummer got pissed and chased my buddy into the parking lot and threatened to kick his a**. Apparently my buddy took the drummers' favorite beer. They finally compromised and one of the managers traded some hard liquor for the cases of beer.

PiL - first U.S. tour, gig at the Cleveland Agora....standing in the front row (standing room up front and tables a bit back)....a wannabe punk crowd, woman next to me bludgeons herself with a heavy chain before the concert and is led away by friends, while bleeding profusely....PiL is in fine form, Lydon stays mostly crouched down, which ticks off the fans behind the SROs and start throwing objects at the stage....guitarist Keith Levene nearly has his guitar ripped off him by fans and ends up spitting at them, which sets off more people spitting and storming the stage....as this happens, Lydon is given a British flag from a fan and proceeds to light it on fire.....

.......a writer from The Plain Dealer, along with others in the front row - myself included - are being nearly pinned onto the stage, as bouncers are now on stage ready to toss those who jump on stage back into the crowd....bouncers soon jump down from the stage to make room for the reporter to flee to the back of the club and I follow the blockers to get out of the melee....PiL plays its set, waits about 15 minutes to return for an encore, arrives with the post-concert spread and proceeds to throw food into the crowd and then cranks into an amazing, short version of Theme.....

.....it wasn't the reporter's evening, though, as a window in her car was busted out in the Agora parking lot and someone was passed out in the back seat......this was one crazed, historic evening in Cleveland rock history.
