you need to do regular water changes and check your ammonia nitrite and nitrate levels in your bowl tank first and adjust accordingly

Awww, sorry to hear :(
It sounds like he had constipation

If you're planning on getting another betta, please get him at least a 2.5 gallon tank with filter and heater, a 5 gallon would be even better if you would like to keep other fish in there as well
The temperature is suppose to be around 78-82 degrees for a betta to thrive and live happy
In the right habitat, betta's can live up to 7 years with proper care
Which means, 25% partial waterchanges weekly
no overfeeding, fasting him for 1 day outa the week to prevent constipation

Hope that helps
Good luck

examine the water temperature. For a betta it may desire to be over 70F, and ideally up around seventy 5-80F. If it quite is too chilly it quite is precisely how they act, no power or urge for nutrition. you do no longer say what the different fish are, yet many are completely extremely joyful with temps down interior the 60s, it is why they are nevertheless doing ok. My betta does this too, he only does it when the water gets cold. When Bettas get cold, they lie very still at the bottom. I finally had to get a little heater for my betta tank.
You should test to see what the temp is, I think bettas need water like 72-78 degrees or something like that.
