do you think god was unfair in giving other people greatness and making other people work hard to achieve it or leave some people to die without being great?

The actually quotation, which is from a Shakespeare play, is "Some men are born TO greatness". It means that they have a destiny to be great (regardless of their circumstances). It is not talking about people being born with an unfair advantage.

But Jesus does address that issue in his teachings. He tells about people who were given 10, 5 and only 1 talents (an amount of money). Their master expected them all to invest the money. The first two doubled their money and were rewarded by him for doing that. But the last made NO USE of his talent was condemned.

God expectation is based on our ability. If you start with more, you are expect to increase on much. If you start with less, you are expected to increase on the less.

The only problem is when you do NOTHING.

I think its an insult to say that people are born with greatness. People acquire greatness through hard work and god given abilities. Just because people come from affluence or have brains dose not mean that people will put them to use.
I like to think instead that the greatness from within will show if we are pushed or push ourselves to overcome our liabilities.

Like prodigies? They don't just became great on what they do.
They also learn it the hard way. They persevere on achieving what they like, so you could not say that they are great at their birth. To be able to achieve what you like you'll just have to have severe passion and sheer persistence. The reason that they are better is just that they have more passion and persistance than those who you think is not great. Everything can be learned, there are just people who has greater passion and persistance than the others, that's why they are better than them.

God is not unfair.
Yes, some people are born with greatness but they may not be able to live up to that.
Just the same, they have to work hard for it. Actually, extra hard, because the pressure is on them.

What has a non-existent sky daddy got to do with anything?

Of course, if you read the bible, the god that emerges is anything but fair! He is petty, vindictive, capricious and cruel. And very stupid!

Everyone is born with a greatness. They just have to find theirs. Unfortunately, not everyone discovers their greatness (or realized they discovered it).
